As many neighbours will have noticed, the capture of wide areas of Brockwell Park by this summer’s events is now at full pace. The area occupied by the festivals seems to be even bigger than last year, and the motor traffic of trucks, vans and even buses will already be taking its toll on the rain-soaked paths and turf. Restricted access will last until mid-June.

There will also be significant traffic disruption and some road closures – and look out for invasion of our and neighbouring streets by festival attendees hunting for parking places.

Major roads (including Dulwich Road) will be closed for some hours as the weekend festivals wind down.

June 1–2          Mighty Hoopla

June 8–9          Lambeth Country Show (50th anniversary)

June 10 – 16     Removal of events infrastructure from Park

The damage to the Park will take much longer to be resolved  –  if ever.
